Jay Allan Jay Allan’s fiction is dominated by military science fiction and large-scale space opera, with stories involving interstellar warfare, fleets, marines, political rivalries, ancient civilizations, and humanity’s struggle for survival. The Crimson Worlds universe forms a major part of his work, following soldiers and political powers through devastating conflicts before expanding into the Refugees and Successors series. Blood on the Stars similarly presents an extensive military space saga built around fleet warfare, rival powers, alliances, invasions, and threats to human civilization.
His other series explore related themes from different perspectives. Portal Wars focuses on warfare enabled by interstellar portals, while Far Stars and its related stories combine military action with imperial politics and frontier adventure. Andromeda Chronicles and Invasion continue Allan’s emphasis on humanity confronting threats beyond Earth. Across the collection, recurring themes include military duty, sacrifice, political ambition, rebellion, survival, and enormous conflicts spanning planets and star systems.
