    Excellent Victorian Mysteries

I love this series. Charles Lenox is an upper class Victorian gentleman in the1870's England. His passion for detective work is looked upon by the members of his class with disdain except when they need his assistance. He is 40 years old at the beginning of the series, and unlike some other series ages as the series progresses. There is an ongoing cast of characters , his brother Sir Edmund, a member of Parliament, his best friend and next door neighbor Lady Jane, his butler , and good friend Graham, etc. all whose lives change over the course of the series. This helps to keep the series fresh. The mysteries themselves have intricate plots that are a joy to try to puzzle out before the story ends. A favorite of mine is The September Society a rather complex mystery. The narrator of the series has a great reading voice. I purchased the dvd which I felt was a great value. I highly recommend this series.
