    Disappointing quality

I bought this as I love the Toby Peters series and have read the books numerous times. I also own all of the books as audiobooks from Audible except for three: "High Midnight,", "Down for the Count," and "The Devil Met A Lady" as these are not published due to copyright issues (as I was told by the publisher). So, when I saw that they were available here, I jumped at the chance to acquire these three even though it meant buying the others as well.

At the moment, I have only listened (partially) to "High Midnight." First, the quality is very poor. They are dupes of the cassette version and nothing was done to reduce the hiss and other aspects. Some of the files even begin by stating that it is side X of cassette Y and, I think, even tell you to turn over the cassette!

Whether or not it was like this on the original recordings, there are pauses that are non-sensical. I can even hear background noise at times but, as mentioned, this may be part of the original recording.

Each book is split into 8 or 9 .mp3s which correspond to the side of the original cassette. No effort was made to join these files into 1 .mp3 nor to make them a chaptered .mp3.

I might even have heard duplicate dialog at times but I can't swear to it.

When I have the opportunity, I am going to join the files and create a chaptered .mp3 which corresponds to the book. I will also follow along with the original book as I listen to see if there are other inconsistencies or errors.

I am glad that I now have the complete Toby Peters audiobooks. However, I can only hope and wish that the copyright issues will eventually be resolved so that I can have these three books in high-quality.
