    Bill Bryson is an American-British author known for his humorous and informative travel writing, as well as his books on the English language and science. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1951, but has lived in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Bryson's writing is characterized by his wit, curiosity, and ability to make complex topics accessible to a general audience.
