Nancy KressNancy Kress (born January 20, 1948) is an American science fiction writer. She began writing in 1976 but has achieved her greatest notice since the publication of her Hugo and Nebula-winning 1991 novella Beggars in Spain which was later expanded into a novel with the same title. She has also won the 2012 Nebula Award for Best Novella for "After the Fall, Before the Fall, During the Fall." In addition to her novels, Kress has written numerous short stories and is a regular columnist for Writer's Digest. She is a regular at Clarion writing workshops and at The Writers Center in Bethesda, Maryland. During the Winter of 2008/09, Nancy Kress was the Picador Guest Professor for Literature at the University of Leipzig's Institute for American Studies in Leipzig, Germany.

This series was discontinued due to issues with the two authors as well as the publishing house. You can't buy the first 4-5 books in the series in print, ebook, or audiobook. An old print copy for one of them can go for like $200 on ebay. So to find the entire audiobook series for such an insanely good price made me take the plunge and buy. I figured even if it didn't work, it was worth the attempt. But the CD came, had everything on it, and I've since converted it to listen to the Books app on my iPhone. Soooooo worth it.
Couldn't believe the great price for this series. CD came in good time, even during the holidays. The audio is slightly lower quality than expected, but once you get into the groove of listening you stop noticing.
